Picoway Resolve

PicoWay Resolve

At Neoderma, we use the PicoWay laser for skin rejuvenation, tattoo removal, acne scars, wrinkles, melasma and dark spots. The PicoWay laser uses a laser beam that pulses at a trillionth of a second to target pigment below the surface of the skin, which leaves the outer layer of the skin intact. Unlike other lasers which use photothermal energy, or light and heat, the PicoWay laser uses photoacoustic energy which is a combination of pulsed light and sound waves to target pigment without heating the skin. This minimizes downtime and potential side effects. When utilizing the PicoWay Resolve handpiece, the photoacoustic laser beam is split into 100 identical beams that are evenly spaced apart. These smaller beams produce that same non-heating effect and target the deeper tissues below the surface to break up pigment and build collagen and elastin.

How to prepare for PicoWay Resolve

The first step to prepare for PicoWay Resolve is to schedule a consultation with one of our providers to see if you are a good candidate for this treatment. The PicoWay laser can be used with lighter and darker skin types, however if you are prone to hyperpigmentation your provider may recommend prepping for the procedure with a topical pigment inhibitor.

Aftercare for PicoWay Resolve

lt is important to avoid sun exposure and tanning beds after this treatment. Remember to apply SPF 30 or higher on skin that is exposed to the sun. You can press cold compresses to your treated skin to soothe the area, and your provider may recommend that you use a topical ointment after treatment as well.
